An Inspiring Night of Testimony and Entertainment
On June 24th from 5:30 to 8:30 PM, we’re hosting a Mental Health Awareness and Recovery Celebration Concert that promises to be an unforgettable experience. This event brings together the transformative power of music with authentic stories of strength and recovery, creating an atmosphere where healing and hope take center stage.
The evening will feature compelling testimony and entertainment from Grammy Award-winning artist Gary Nichols and rising country star Kensie Coppin, two individuals whose journeys exemplify the resilience of the human spirit.
Gary Nichols, who replaced Chris Stapleton as lead singer of The SteelDrivers and led the band to their first Grammy win in 2016, has been open about his recovery from opioid addiction. After struggling with addiction that led to his departure from the band in 2017, Gary sought treatment and is now using his platform to help others facing similar challenges and inspire them.
Kensie Coppin, a country singer-songwriter from Texas who won CMA Artist of the Year for 2022, has been working with multiple recovery and treatment centers for mental illness and addiction. Having performed on the Grand Ole Opry as a child, she now uses her musical talents to share hope and inspiration with those on their recovery journeys.
Their authentic stories of overcoming challenges and finding strength in recovery will inspire attendees and demonstrate that healing is possible for everyone.
A Celebration of Recovery and Community
This three-hour event promises to be an unforgettable experience that combines the healing power of music with authentic stories of recovery. Set against the beautiful backdrop of our lakeside facility, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with others who understand the recovery journey while enjoying world-class entertainment.
The concert represents something unique in our community. This is a space where those in recovery, their families, and supporters can come together without the barriers that sometimes exist around addiction and mental health topics. By featuring artists who have walked the path of recovery themselves, we’re creating an authentic environment where hope isn’t just talked about, but lived and shared.
Why Mental Health Awareness Matters
Mental health awareness events like this concert serve a vital purpose in our community. They help normalize conversations about mental health struggles, reduce stigma, and show those who may be struggling that they are not alone. When we share stories of recovery and celebrate the journey to mental wellness, we create spaces where people feel safe to seek help and support.
For individuals in recovery or those supporting loved ones through their healing journey, events like these provide hope and connection. They remind us that recovery is not just about overcoming addiction or mental health challenges—it’s about building a life filled with purpose, joy, and meaningful relationships.
Music as a Healing Force
Music has long been recognized as a powerful tool in the recovery process. It can express emotions when words fall short, provide comfort during difficult times, and bring people together in shared experiences. This concert celebrates that healing power while honoring the courage it takes to pursue recovery.
The combination of personal testimony and musical entertainment creates a unique environment where attendees can feel inspired, understood, and hopeful about their own journeys or those of their loved ones.
Join Our Community Celebration
This Mental Health Awareness and Recovery Celebration Concert is more than just an event, it’s a community coming together to support one another and celebrate the strength found in recovery. This free, all-ages event will take place lakeside at The Bluffs’ beautiful facility in Sherrodsville, Ohio.
The celebration will include engaging speakers, live music from both featured artists, food trucks, and access to recovery resources. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and make it a family-friendly experience. Please note that no alcohol or coolers are permitted at this event, creating a safe and supportive environment for all attendees.
